Dr. Frank J. Sheppard, MD

Dr. Frank J. Sheppard is a board-certified surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) who practices emergency medicine across Texas. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from M.H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine (Southwestern University) and completed his general surgery residency at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, followed by fellowships in colon and rectal surgery and in cardiothoracic surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

Over a distinguished career spanning more than four decades, Dr. Sheppard has served as a staff surgeon, Chief of Surgery, and Associate Professor of Surgery at hospitals and medical centers across Texas, New Mexico, and beyond, and has practiced as an emergency room physician throughout numerous Texas communities. He holds ATLS and ACLS instructor credentials along with training in hyperbaric medicine and pediatric advanced life support. As part of Focus Physicians Group PLLC, Dr. Sheppard brings exceptional surgical depth and emergency expertise to freestanding ER care.
